The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), founded in 1961, is a globally recognized voluntary women's organization dedicated to the holistic welfare of women, girls, and children. The organization's mission is to foster physical, spiritual, and mental development among its beneficiaries.

Under the guidance of the then general editor of Dhaka YWCA, the first YWCA Nursery and Kindergarten School was established in Moghbazar in 1976, with just 2 teachers and 16 students. Over the years, the school has expanded its infrastructure and currently operates two branches, Prabhati and Diwa, providing education from playgroup to 10th grade to approximately 500 underprivileged children.The YWCA School has gained recognition as one of Dhaka city's premier institutions, boasting high success rates in academic exams and competitive events. It offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities through the Dhaka YWCA program department, enhancing students' skills in English, sewing, drawing, music, and more.

The school's Urnisha Club provides opportunities for students to engage in science, debate, quiz, cultural, environmental, and college activities, promoting their holistic development. Additionally, the school is committed to providing quality education to children from all socioeconomic backgrounds through its paid and unpaid branches, embodying inclusivity and excellence in education.
