In Bangladesh, a board for the project is set up and SMS Bangladesh is considered as its own organization. At the same time, a support group is formed in Denmark, which is responsible for supporting knowledge and contributing financially. 2005: The first school is set up in Birganj 2006: A new school opens in Pirganj 2007: The third school opens in Patnitala
THE FOUNDATION: The schools are based on a Bangladeshi cultural heritage and basic Christian values such as equality and respect for fellow human beings. Schools want to influence the community and therefore take up pupils from all walks of life. It offers the opportunity to involve the parents in the school board and thereby promote understanding of democracy and equality. The schools absorb students from all religious directions: Islam, Hinduism and Christianity, thus helping to promote friendship and dialogue among students and parents. In Bangladesh, English is the most important language at university. Therefore, teaching is as far as possible in English - with the exception of mother tongue education - to allow the provincial children to familiarize themselves with the language and thus get the opportunity to take a higher education. Volunteers from Denmark help teachers improve their English, play with the students and bear the place's fundamental values.
VISION: It is a great desire for teachers and management at schools to give Northwest Bangladesh a boost from poverty by ensuring that children in this part of the country also get well educated and can intervene in the community debate, thereby dragging the whole area out of poverty. In the long run, SMS, in collaboration with the parents, wants to promote:
1. Dialogue and intercultural understanding between religious communities
2. Economic development - ie. promote the financial independence of families
3. Eligibility - in particular to promote children's and women's rights
4. Health - especially for young people, in order to reduce infant mortality and maternal mortality
5.Military and sustainable development
6.Global partnerships - Cross-border and c
