To meet the need of technical hands in home and abroad Shyamoli Ideal Polytechnic Institute (SIPI)) has been established in 1979 under Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Principal M. A. Sattar is the founder of this reputed technical institution. It has four campuses located at Dhaka, Chittagong, Rangpur, Laxmipur. It is a pioneer polytechnic institution in Bangladesh.The SIPI has the hostel facility both for male  & female students. It has 6 hostel buildings of its own. Each is well furnished 4-storied building. One is dedicated for male students with canteen facility and common room. Another is for female students. Every room of the hostel has attached bath and toilet and sufficient number of furniture to accommodate students. The common room, canteen, sounds and attractive atmosphere of the area is helpful for carrying out study by the students pleasantly. The dining system is maintained by students and SIPI  does not interfere in it. Cook and canteen boys are supplied from office and students are not charged for this service. It has a rich transport services for its students and personnel. It has thirteen buses & five microbuses available for students & staff. The transportation systems cover many places.SIPI  has a placement Center. This Center provides career development counseling to SIPI  Students. Cultivates and maintains relationship with employers, relevant institutions and organizations. Designs and arrange seminars, workshops related to development of students. SIPI  has an experienced recruiting committee to recruit the Trainers. We everybody knows that a teacher is always the most important component to teach the students. Ours is such a technical educational institute in where we always try to recruit smart, competent & qualified Trainer. Each member of our recruiting committee has minimum 10 years practical oriented teaching experience and industrial experience also.  There are 14 academic departments in SIPI . 4-year Diploma-in-Engineering, 1-year Diploma-in-Engineering, 6-month certificate programs are going on.  It is a dedicated station of quality technical education.
