Cantonment Public School and College (ক্যান্টনমেন্ট পাবলিক স্কুল ও কলেজ, বীর উত্তম শহীদ মাহবুব সেনানিবাস, খোলাহাটি, পার্বতীপুর, দিনাজপুর) is a leading educational institution located in Bir Uttam Shaheed Mahbub Senanibas, Kholahati, Parbatipur, Dinajpur. Once economically underprivileged and educationally backward, this far-flung area of the remote northern part of the country has something to be proud of in the form of Cantonment Public School and College, BUSMS. Located amid green foliage and away from the bustle of city life, it has added new dimensions to this region's educational and socio-economic life. The people of this region suffered a lot for want of quality education, and so they felt an acute need for a better academic institution. With the inception of Cantonment Public School and College BUSMS, the people's dream to have a formal educational institution came true when the institution started its journey in 1994. The institution was founded on about 8.10 acres of land by the then GOC of the Rangpur area, Major General Ezaz Ahmed Chowdhury. He instituted the academic activities of the school on 25 January 1995. Since then, the institution has been growing year by year, with an increasing number of students joining from the far-flung corners of greater Rangpur and Dinajpur districts and the adjoining localities. The institution is now in its third decade as a center of outstanding reputation. The institution initiated its academic activities with the school section. The first batch of S.S.C Examinees participated in 1998. The then station commander and the chairman of Governing Body Brig-Gen ANM Muniruzzaman made a painstaking effort to take the S.S.C Examination with the cordial co-operation of the then Area Commander. The College section started functioning in 2000 when the institution expanded its role by offering an H.S.C degree. Since then, the institution has been going on to impart high standard education to the people of this part of the country. Cantonment Public School and College is a graphic example of a proud installation in this region, having splendid panoramic views with modern infrastructural facilities comprising an enriched library, modern computer lab, an auditorium of 500 seats, a 3-storied boys' hostel, and many other modern amenities. Cantonment Public School and College can also boast of its excellent academic environment, manifested in the results of various Public Examinations.
