Palakhal Rustam Ali Degree College, located in Palakhal Bazar, Kachua - 3633,  Bangladesh, has a storied past dating back to the late 1960s. Initially constructed by the Government of Pakistan for the purpose of establishing a secondary school in Chandpur city, its opening was delayed due to the war of independence. However, after a century of independence, the institution finally emerged as Rangdhanu Adarsh School on January 20, 1999. Modeled after renowned public schools in England, it quickly gained prominence.

In the same year, the college section commenced operations, leading to the official renaming of the institution as Rangdhanu Adarsh High School on August 1, 2001, through a notification issued by the Ministry of Education. Subsequently, on August 18, 2001, the notification was published in the Bangladesh Gazette.

The college stands as a testament to its glorious history, occupying approximately five and a half acres of land in a pleasant environment surrounded by greenery on the eastern side of Diabari Road in Uttara Sector 11 area under Dhaka North City Corporation. Rangdhanu Adarsh High School is an autonomous educational institution established by the Ministry of Education of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and managed under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education. The institution is completely apolitical and residential in nature. Only boys and girls can study in this institution from third to twelfth standard, similar to Dhaka Residential Model College.
