The office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commission (RRRC) was established in 1992 following the arrival of an estimated 250,000 Rohingya Muslims who fled across the border into Bangladesh from Rakhine State, in Myanmar. Headed by the honorable Mr. Mohammad Abul Kalam, the RRRC is located in the Cox’s Bazar district of Bangladesh, approximately 390 km south-west of its capital city, Dhaka.

Sitting within the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR), the RRRC is the governing body responsible for the provision of humanitarian assistance for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, with the support of the United Nations (UN) and the international community.
