In 1978, amidst the tranquil surroundings of Eskaton Garden, Dhaka, a visionary endeavor took root within the confines of a rental house, initiated by five esteemed Founder Directors. Guided by the indomitable spirit and leadership of Dr. A. K. N. Islam, then Chief of Medicine at Holy Family Red Crescent Hospital, the seeds of a private clinic were sown.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, this humble clinic embarked on a journey of transformation, with a clear mission to expand its horizons and offer specialized treatments and services. In 1981, this aspiration materialized with the acquisition of 1.5 bighas of land, marking the inception of the first purpose-built private hospital in Dhaka.

Pioneering yet again, Metropolitan Medical Centre became the first private hospital in Dhaka to introduce neurosurgery facilities, spearheaded by the esteemed Prof. Rashiduddin Ahmad. The architectural blueprint was meticulously crafted, ensuring optimal positioning of operation theaters, cath labs, CCUs, ICUs, and cabins, all designed to enhance patient comfort and care.Since its inception, Metropolitan Medical Centre has emerged as a beacon of excellence in neurosurgical care, standing as one of the largest centers outside the government sector.
