At one time the people of this region were called "Nemi" (name). This grazing area was long or long. This is why the area is named Dighlia. Some say, here the land was surrounded by long "al". "Dighlia" is named after "Digh Al" from long Al and suffix "Iy". On January 12, 1987, Dighlia emerged as an independent upazila. Earlier, Dighlia was known as a police station on 03 July 1986. However, Dighlia was included in Daulatpur police station till it emerged as police station. In Dighlia upazila some politicians who were known throughout the undivided India took up residence. Former Chief Minister of West Bengal Prafulla Chandra Sen took up residence in Senhati Union of Dighlia. He was the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1962 to 1967.Dighalia 9220, Khulna, Bangladesh.
