Daily Naya Diganta reporter was warned in January 2012 at the International Crimes Tribunal for misrepresenting a prosecution witness statement. On 17 June 2012, during the Bangladesh Liberation War, the chairman of the holding firm Mir Quasem Ali was indicted by the International Crimes Tribunal on charges of war crimes. He was convicted and sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal. Hasanul Haq Inu, Minister of Information of Bangladesh, accused the newspaper of carrying out "propaganda" against the International Crimes Tribunal.
