HOUSEHOLD PEST CONTROL: Cockroaches, flies, ants, centipede, etc. are the most common pests found in homes in Bangladesh. To keep homes free of these harmful pests, spraying service on a routine basis from professional pest control firm is required. Depending on pest situation, generally spraying are made at one to three months intervals. For an average size three-bedroom house, it takes about one to two hours to spray.

TERMITE CONTROL : Termite (also known as ‘white ant') cause serious damage to wooden doors, windows, cabinets, furniture, carpets, electrical wiring, books, documents, clothes, etc. Homes without any termite-proofing treatment; generally become infested within two to three years of construction. There is a common misconception in this country that termite infestation cannot be prevented or eradicated. In fact, very effective curative and preventive treatments against termites are available. Termite proofing is a chemical treatment process that remains effective for long period.

MOSQUITO CONTROL: Mosquito is a serious problem in Dhaka and other cities of Bangladesh. In Dhaka, during the winter months, Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes create an unbearable situation. In recent years, Aedes aegypti, which transmit dengue virus, has become a major problem during the rainy months. Mosquito is not only a nuisance pest but also a vector of a number of deadly diseases such as dengue, malaria, filarial, etc. Since mosquito is a mobile pest, spraying of a single home cannot ensure desired result. However, to keep the mosquito regeneration below the tolerable level for a week or so, we provide a combination of space spraying (fogging) and residual application of appropriate pesticide.

RODENT CONTROL: Rodents (rats and mice) are notorious pests of field crops and stored grains. In addition to agricultural losses, rodents also pose health hazards to humans and cause structural damage in households, offices, warehouses, etc. The list of damage they do is almost endless. By using a proper combination of control techniques, homes can be kept free of rodents.

FURNITURE TREATMENT: Furniture beetle, powder-post beetle and other species (commonly known as woodworm) attack wooden furniture and decoration pieces, wooden floors, panels, etc. Presence of yellowish powdery substance is the sign of powder-post beetle infestation. Sometimes there may be a characteristic sound from the woodworm infested furniture. Every effective and safe chemical treatment is now available for treating furniture and other valuable wooden materials. The treatment leaves no stain or stench.

MISCELLANEOUS PEST CONTROL : Bats have long been known to be beneficial because they eat insects. However, they can become a pest when they move into homes. In recent years some bat species especially fruit bats have been identified as a reservoir of ‘Nipa Virus'. Nipa Virus has been detected in bats in Bangladesh. The most common entry point for bats in home is through the ventilators, un-screened windows. Little brown bats are small and can easily crawl through the small gaps, which are a normal part of construction. Bats will take advantage of open storage buildings, carports, barns or sheds. Once inside, their droppings will begin to accumulate posing a health hazard and making a mess. Bat problems in houses are solved by denying their access through screening of openings such as ventilators, windows, etc.
