The Bangladesh Fruits, Vegetables & Allied Product Exporter’s Association (BFVAPEA) was established in 1984 under the Ministry of Commerce, in accordance with the Company Act 1913. The Bangladesh Fruits, Vegetables & Allied Product Exporter’s Association (BFVAPEA) was established in 1984 under the Ministry of Commerce, in accordance with the Company Act 1913. It was initiated by esteemed individuals of the country, including Mr. S.I Chowdhury, Proprietor of Bengal Trade Promoters, Mr. Zainul Abedin, Proprietor of Afco Abedin Ltd and Sohail Enterprise, and Mr. Ghulam Rabbani. Under the leadership of Mr. S.I Chowdhury and Mr. Ghulam Rabbani as the founder president and General Secretary respectively, the association's Executive Committee comprised 11 members.nBFVAPEA is the sole association in Bangladesh dedicated to the export of horticultural fresh vegetables, fruits, betel leaf, and allied products to the global market. Currently, it boasts a membership of over 500 individuals actively engaged in the business of exporting fresh fruits and vegetables to various destinations worldwide.nAlthough Bangladesh commenced the export of horticultural produce in 1973, BFVAPEA was formally established in 1984 with the aim of promoting and diversifying exports in this sector. The export of fresh horticultural produce primarily operates on a consignment sale basis under the collective platform of BFVAPEA.
