WeGro is a tech-based agri startup that is working towards revolutionizing the archaic agriculture industry by integrating the latest technology in all aspects of this agri supply chain.With little to no fundamental changes in practices, the agriculture sector of Bangladesh is immensely falling behind its global peers. Through extensive primary research, we identified the core underlying issues that are holding back our agriculture industry from thriving. Based on our findings, we have designed our technology-driven end-to-end solutions.Through the integration of technology, WeGro is ensuring that farmers have access to the required finance and end market and incorporate quality consumable inputs and modern agriculture knowledge in their farming practices.While it may be common knowledge that our farmers use processes and equipment that are considered obsolete in advanced economies, the extent of the problem is unknown to most. The agriculture sector’s low contribution to GDP – only 12.68% – despite employing around 50% of the country’s workforce illustrates the magnitude of the problem.Technology and efficient agriculture inputs are deemed expensive by Bangladeshi farmers and that is where we step in and make efficient resources accessible to them – also helping the agriculture facilitators. We not only help farmers acquire technologically advanced machinery but also equip them with the latest farming knowledge and market data to improve their working practices.Simply digitizing one aspect of the agri value chain would not manifest significant improvements and that is why we ensure that the cumbersome process of taking produce to the end consumer is also revamped. We streamline the road from the farmland to the marketplace, benefiting both the marginalized farmers and the end consumers.WeGro is bringing major reforms in the agriculture industry of Bangladesh while ensuring that all the stakeholders – farmers, agriculture facilitators, partner merchants, and definitely, consumers – are benefited.
