Established in 1962, Peoples Ceramic Industries Ltd. holds the distinction of being the pioneer in manufacturing porcelain tableware in Bangladesh. The company was founded by the late Mr. Ansar Uddin Ahmed, a visionary civil engineer, with a mission to enhance the lives of ordinary people by providing affordable ceramic tableware.  Inspired by the elegance of European-style tableware, the company initially produced items that resonated both domestically and internationally. By 1982, PCI tableware had gained recognition in Holland and the United Kingdom. In its early years, the company focused on basic houseware items, including tea cups and saucers tailored for restaurant use. Marketing challenges led Mr. Ahmed to expand into Pakistan, where PCI's hard-grade porcelain products outperformed competitors and achieved remarkable success.  To meet growing demand, PCI diversified its offerings to include institutional products for hotels and restaurants. The company prioritized adopting appropriate technologies and sourcing high-quality raw materials globally to ensure cost efficiency while consistently upgrading machinery and equipment to maintain a competitive edge.  In 2009, Peoples Ceramic ventured into decal printing, beginning with logos and evolving into a fully automated decal printing facility by 2012.
