The judicial system of Bangladesh has a known history of over thousands of years. The present judicial system of Bangladesh has evolved as a result of the gradual processes during the different periods of Indian history.  The legal history of Bangladesh can be divided into four important periods, i.e., the Hindu period, the Muslim period, the British period, and after independence.
