A renowned social reformer and distinguished person named Surendra Nath Roy of southern part of khulna district took an attempt to establish a college at Bajua. For this purpose opened a bank account for collecting money in 1969. But during Liberation war in 1971, the breathed his last. After the Liberation war, the Elite as well as all walks of people of the locality came forward with a view to establishing the college which was the dream of late Surendra Nath Roy. They named the college “Bajua Surendra Nath College” in honor of the great soul Surendra Nath Roy. The college started functioning in 1972 with Arts and commerce faculties. The college achieved Degree affiliation in 1983. There are Arts, Commerce and Science faculties both in HSC and Degree level. There are more than one thousand and five hundred students in the college. In 2011, the college got Honors affiliation in three departments Management, Economics and Political Science under National University.
